Why donations are important
Churches rely solely on donations to stay open and active: they receive no money from the national church or the government. Donating to your local church enables its ministry and mission and helps maintain the building.
How to make your donation
You can make a one-off and/or regular donation to your church in two ways. Whichever way you use, please Gift Aid it if you are a UK tax payer.

Regular donations
We encourage this for regular giving as it ensures our monthly cash flow and makes life a lot easier for our Treasurer.
Click on the church below that you wish to donate to, which will take you to its Parish Giving Scheme donation page. Choose how you want to donate and fill in the form. To stop a standing order donation, please contact your bank.
One-off donations
You can also make one-off donations online to Ottery St Mary Parish Church through People’s Fundraising. Choose how you want to donate and fill in the form.
Other ways to support Ottery Parish Church
Ottery St Mary Parish Church is supported by two other charities: The Friends of St Mary Church (registered charity no. 1084453) and The Ottery Church Corporation (registered charity no. 1055574).
The Friends
The Friends of Ottery St Mary Church was set up in 1952 to advance the Christian religion and to preserve and enhance for the public benefit the Church of Saint Mary of Ottery, its churchyards and precincts. The charity assists with the maintenance, provision, improvement and enhancement of the fabric, fittings, monuments, furniture and ornaments of the Church, churchyard and precincts.

The Church Corporation
The Ottery Church Corporation was set up by King Henry VIII who issued letters patent on the 24th of December 1545. The charity now exists in order to maintain the fabric and churchyard of Ottery St Mary Parish Church in close collaboration with the Parochial Church Council.

Leaving a legacy
Many people choose to leave a gift in their will to the church that has shaped their faith, supported their family, or held important moments of their lives. A legacy gift is a simple, generous way to help your church continue its work for future generations.
Why Legacies Matter
A legacy – large or small – helps your church to:
- nurture faith and welcome new generations
- sustain the beauty of the church building
- support ministry, mission, and pastoral care
If you would like to remember the church in your will, it’s straightforward to do. Your solicitor can help you include a simple clause naming the church you’d like to support. If you’d like to talk confidentially about how your gift might be used, please contact the Treasurer.
Thank You
Every legacy – no matter the size – is received with deep gratitude. Your generosity helps the church continue its calling to serve God and neighbour, today and for years to come.
